Pat McAfee Provides Update Following Attack

SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee has given a health update after he was viciously attacked by Happy Corbin after Money In The Bank went off the air.

Pat McAfee was on the call at Money In The Bank for several matches alongside his regular SmackDown broadcast partner Michael Cole on the 2nd of June.

The night saw Liv Morgan pick up two career-defining victories as she first overcame the odds to emerge as the new Miss Money In The Bank. It wasn’t a title that Morgan wanted for long however as she picked her moment later in the evening to cash in and unseat Ronda Rousey as SmackDown Women’s Champion.

In the main event, Drew McIntyre, Madcap Moss, Omos, Riddle, Sami Zayn, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, and Sheamus were set to compete in the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match but WWE official Adam Pearce had other ideas. He added Theory to the match and it was Vince McMahon’s handpicked star that managed to grab the briefcase, leaving the event with a guaranteed title shot anywhere, anytime.

However, as the show went off the air with Theory holding his briefcase aloft on the ladder, Pat McAfee was grabbed over the ring barricade and beaten mercilessly by Happy Corbin. The two men have exchanged words with McAfee challenging Corbin to a bout at SummerSlam.

Following that attack, Pat McAfee took to social media to provide an update on his condition, referring to Corbin with his favourite pet name for him:

“I’ve been laid up all day resting my back/neck because of this cowardly blindside attack from last night… I think imma be ok… BUT BUM ASS CORBIN WONT BE AFTER SUMMERSLAM”
