SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee seemingly made a Chris Benoit reference on SmackDown as he seemingly labelled someone with Benoit’s old nickname.
On the 8th of April edition of SmackDown, Butch competed for the first time in the ring since he debuted on the main roster. The former Pete Dunne took on New Day’s Xavier Woods and came out on the losing side of things. Afterward, the manic Butch seemed eager to get in the face and attack his own partners Ridge Holland and Sheamus as they tried to calm him down.
While reviewing Butch’s actions on the 15th of April edition of SmackDown, Pat McAfee seemingly referenced Chris Benoit’s old nickname as he referred to Butch as “the rabid wolverine.”
Former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit has not been mentioned on WWE television following the details surrounding his death came to light. Benoit murdered his wife Nancy, and his son Daniel over a weekend in June 2007 before ending his own life.

Nancy Toffoloni is best known for her time performing in both WCW and ECW as the mysterious manager Woman. Woman accompanied the likes of Doom, Ric Flair, The Sandman, and ex-husband Kevin Sullivan to the ring over the course of her career.
Life imitated art in 1996 when Woman seemingly deserted Sullivan on-screen in favour of Benoit. Nancy and Kevin Sullivan then divorced in 1997 as her and Benoit’s on-screen relationship spilled over into real life.
