Pat McAfee has officially revealed himself as the man behind Adam Cole’s shocking attack at NXT TakeOver 31.

In a video posted on Twitter, McAfee responded to a fan who asked if he had booked his hospital stay for his next interaction with Undisputed Era leader, Adam Cole. Alongside the specially recorded response, Pat tweeted out:

“Who do you think bough the Mercedes? Whatever’s left of the Undisputed Era and whoever else from #WWENXT that wants some can come get some at #HalloweenHavoc on Wednesday if they got a problem with it. Remember…we’re the greatest. You suck. Cheers.”

Along with the confirmation that he was the man who paid Ridge Holland a vast sum to incapacitate the former NXT Champion, McAfee also confirmed that he and new cohorts Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan would be present at NXT Halloween Havoc this Wednesday to accept the challenge of anyone who wanted a fight.

Previously it was unknown who had paid Holland to do the deed, but following McAfee’s return to the black and gold brand last week then many believed it was a foregone conclusion.

On last week’s edition of NXT, a masked man ambushed Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong backstage and cost them their NXT Tag Team Championship opportunity against Breezango.

In their place, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan were gifted the number one contendership and pulled off a shock victory and heel turn, when they took advantage of the masked man’s interference to drop Tyler Breeze with a low blow and their finisher to capture the doubles gold.

Following the bout, McAfee revealed himself to be the masked assailant and united with Burch and Lorcan as NXT’s newest heel faction.

The ball is now in Adam Cole’s court as we wait with baited breath to find out how the talent will respond once the Undisputed Era are functional once more.
