Pat McAfee could be on his way to wrestling at another major WWE pay-per-view this year.
WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee has wrestled a few times in WWE. His most recent match was against the-now United States Champion Theory and then right afterward against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania.
While it appeared McAfee would remain just a commentator for the rest of the year, a recent confrontation made the former punter want to go back to wrestling again.
Following a loss to Madcap Moss last week on SmackDown, Happy Corbin took exception to Pat McAfee’s commentary and verbally assaulted him afterward. This prompted McAfee this week to challenge Corbin to a match at SummerSlam. McAfee stood on the announce desk and returned the favor by calling Corbin a “punk.”
As of now, Corbin has yet to respond to McAfee’s challenge.

SummerSlam is scheduled to take place in Nashville on July 30th. The only match confirmed so far is Roman Reigns defending the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match. There were teases on last night’s SmackDown that the winner of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match would cash in at SummerSlam.
