Paige’s recent WWE exit was referenced by NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose on the July 26th edition of NXT 2.0.
On the most recent episode of NXT 2.0, Mandy Rose took to the ring to remind the WWE Universe just how impressive her NXT Women’s Title reign has been.
The champion toasted her most recent milestone, and appeared to take a mocking little shot at Paige along the way.
“Tomorrow, I become the fourth longest-reigning Women’s Champion in NXT history,” Rose said. “Goodbye Bayley, goodbye Charlotte, Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez. And tomorrow, thank you Paige, but toodaloo to you too, honey.”
Back in June 2013, Paige became the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion after defeating Emma to emerge victorious after a eight-woman tournament. She held the title for 273 days, and never actually lost it in the ring. After being called up to the main roster, the British star immediately won the Divas Championship, and as a result was forced to vacate her NXT crown.
As of July 27th, Mandy Rose has held the title for 274 days, after winning back at Halloween Havoc on October 26th.
The longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion in history is Asuka, who held the title for a staggering 522 days.
Paige recently left WWE after her contract expired, making her a free agent for the first time in more than a decade. Although the star hasn’t wrestled since 2017 due to a serious neck injury, that hasn’t stopped speculation linking her with a switch to AEW.
Former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker recently talked up a potential clash with Paige, to which the former Divas Champion simply replied “sign me up.”
Meanwhile, it has already been announced that Mandy Rose will be defending her prized championship against Zoey Stark at Heatwave on August 16th.
