Paige continues to thank everyone who supported her throughout her pro wrestling journey.
Paige announced her departure from WWE last month, leaving many to wonder what her next venture would be. Despite being only twenty-nine-year-old, the star has already accomplished an incredible amount within not only WWE but the wrestling industry as a whole.
Now, the former Divas Champion is giving her appreciation to those who worked behind the scenes.
In her goodbye letter for The Players Tribune, Paige thanked everyone from female talent to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H for allowing her to become the wrestler many fans will remember her for. She also took the time to write a thank you to WWE officials.
“And while I wish the same support had been given to earlier eras of female wrestlers, to WWE’s credit they did come around on what our group was capable of. So many people had our backs and gave us the tools to succeed. Stephanie and Hunter, obviously. Dusty. Dr. Tom. Norman Smiley. Joey Mercury. Steve Keirn. Nothing was handed to us, but it felt like anything was possible. Want to dress more alternative? If you can get it over, go for it. Want to do a top-rope suplex? If you can pull it off, we won’t hold you back. That was the attitude. We were very fortunate.”
Paige has previously mentioned how much the late great Dusty Rhodes helped her at the start of her WWE career. She once told the story of Rhodes always being hard on her during promo classes. The former Divas Champion said that Dusty wanted her to be her true self and be as successful as possible.
