Following the news that she will soon depart from WWE, Paige has given an update on her health and whether she will be able to get in the ring again.
In her statement, Paige acknowledged that her neck injury made it “pretty hard” for WWE to keep her under contract for as long as they did. She’s been officially inactive since retiring the night after WrestleMania 34, although she hadn’t wrestled since the prior December.
However, the Anti-Diva hinted at a return to in-ring competition, though she didn’t specifically announce where or when that would take place.
Now, during a Twitch stream, Paige has spoken more about her current status. When asked whether she has been cleared to compete, she admitted “Not yet”, but went on to explain that she feels healthier than she has in a long time.
“It’s so healthy. I feel like I’m the most healthy I’ve been in my whole career. I feel I can compete again, 1000%.”
This is not the first time Paige has spoken of her desire to get back in action. In March 2022, she explained that she wants to wrestle again and is inspired by the comeback stories of Bryan Danielson and Edge, who both came back from injuries that were thought to be career-ending.
Paige is a former two-time WWE Divas Champion and one-time – and inaugural – NXT Women’s Champion. She retired from in-ring activity in April 2018 after suffering a career-ending injury the previous December, though she’s remained with the company in roles including SmackDown’s General Manager.
