Paige Gives Encouraging Update On Her Neck

Paige

Paige has given an update on her neck after being forced into retirement from the wrestling ring in 2018 after suffering numerous injuries.

The English star underwent neck surgery in October 2016 after a turbulent era in her WWE career that saw her suspended twice for wellness policy violations. Paige returned to the ring on the 4th of December 2017 for the first first time in nearly eighteen months where she defeated Sasha Banks on Raw. Upon her return to Paige had formed Absolution with Mandy Rose and Soya Deville as the three women looked to dominate WWE’s burgeoning women’s division.

Further disaster struck for Paige on the 27th of December 2017 when she, Rose, and Deville teamed up to face Bayley, Mickie James, and Sasha Banks at a live event. An errant kick from Banks floored Paige and inadvertently brought about the end of her in-ring career to date.

Now, taking to social media the former two-time WWE Divas Champion has offered a more positive update on her health, Tweeting:

You guys I’m getting stronger squatting 185lbs again. I know it’s not a ton but it’s a big accomplishment for me who was worried to do any gym stuff because of my neck. But my neck is feeling so awesome. I’m so proud of myself”

Since her retirement from the ring, Paige continued to accompany her Absolution teammates to the ring before officially declaring her in-ring retirement on the night after WrestleMania 34. She was shortly thereafter named as SmackDown General Manager during Shane McMahon’s time as Commissioner of the blue brand, replacing Daniel Bryan who himself had returned to the ring after being forced into retirement.

Paige’s life story was told through the movie Fighting With My Family which was produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks production company. The film followed Paige’s beginnings as part of an English wrestling family before living her dream by signing with WWE.
