Otis vs. The Miz For Money In The Bank Briefcase At WWE Hell In A Cell

It was announced on last night’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown that Otis will battle The Miz at WWE Hell in a Cell with the fate of the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging in the balance.

During last night’s edition of the blue brand, both Otis and The Miz went to court over ownership of the contract with former WWE Champion, JBL, presiding over their case.

After both men pleaded their case, The Miz stating that he wanted to restore prestige as a former Mr. Money in the Bank and Otis believing he should keep it simply because he won it, the judge was presented with a case full of cash which swayed his decision.

Taking the bribe, JBL made the edict that Otis would defend his honour against ‘The A-Lister’ on October 25.

For weeks now, both The Miz and John Morrison have attempted to remove the briefcase from Otis’ possession citing that the former Heavy Machinery member has made the contract a joke.

Their efforts even included removing Mandy Rose from his side and getting her transferred to Monday Night Raw. However, their conniving backfired this past Monday when the recently split Heavy Machinery reunited with Otis under the mask of El Gran Gordo to vanquish Miz and Morrison.

Earlier this month, the reliable WrestleVotes reported that a large proportion of WWE management had pitched to remove the briefcase from Otis as they felt it had become a parody of itself. However, they noted that the roadblock with that plan was Vince McMahon himself who is a massive fan of the talent.

Otis won the Money in the Bank briefcase earlier this year, seemingly by luck, when he caught it after AJ Styles had dropped it from the top of the ladder.
