Despite their problems, Ortiz remains proud of Eddie Kingston.
For much of their time in AEW, Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz had each other’s backs and were close friends on and off-screen. However, after Santana and Ortiz fell out, trouble wasn’t too far away. Kingston almost got into a fight with Santana backstage, but continued to team with Ortiz on television.
That being said the alliance wasn’t built to last and Kingston turned on his friend in January 2022 after weeks of tension. The pair haven’t appeared together since and Ortiz hasn’t wrestled for AEW altogether since March.
Despite not seeing eye-to-eye, Ortiz still has love for Kingston, recently taking to Twitter to praise the star for his performances in Japan as part of the G1 Climax Tournament.
Eddie and I might not be on talking terms right now. But putting our differences aside. Seeing him do his thing brings me so much joy!

What Happened Between Santana And Ortiz?
For much of 2021, Santana and Ortiz appeared to be perfectly placed to make a major impact on AEW’s tag team division. The pair tangled with many of the company’s top teams and enjoyed strong popularity with fans. However, by the summer of 2022, things had unraveled spectacularly.
The pair fell out backstage, at least in part to Sanatana being frustrated by creative and his partner being far more accepting of their position. This wasn’t helped by Santana suffering a serious knee injury.
Speaking to Inside The Ropes in June, Konnan — who has a relationship with all involved — said he hopes Santana and Ortiz will resolve their issues.
