Original WWE Plans For Rhea Ripley Prior To Injury

Rhea Ripley was pulled from Crown Jewel due to injury and was set to be competing at the event.

Following her guest appearance on the October 29th episode of NXT, Ripley was seen bloodied in the parking lot after being attacked by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Unfortunately, it was later reported that Rhea Ripley had suffered a legitimate injury and would be out of action for the foreseeable future.

With Ripley injured, the former Women’s Champion will not be travelling to Saudi Arabia for the upcoming show. However, in a report by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had Ripley vs, Rodriguez on the internal rundown for the show but the match was removed due to injury. Additionally, the 4-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championships was a late addition to replace the previously cancelled match:

The show was changed due an injury to Rhea Ripley. Ripley suffered a fractured right orbital bone that will put her out of action and ended up delaying the planned singles match with Rodriguez which was confirmed to have been on this show. The injury happened on the 10/21 Raw show, believed to be from a head-butt spot, but was kept quiet until they did a phantom angle on NXT on 10/29 as a cover for it.

While we don’t know, it would appear that the four-way women’s tag team title match was the replacement match since it is the only match on the show that wasn’t scheduled before the Ripley injury.

WWE Star Wants To Team With Rhea Ripley Again

Many are hoping that Ripley will continue her dominant run once again when she returns from injury given that there is unfinished business between The Eradicator and Morgan. When discussing Rhea Ripley in a recent interview, one SmackDown star stated they wanted to run the unlikely alliance back one more time.

In recent news, Rhea Ripley has been announced for the planned WWE European tour.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes continues to wish Ripley a full and speedy recovery.
