Original Plans For Keith Lee Handicap Match Revealed

As per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, plans for the participation of Keith Lee on the December 14 Monday Night Raw changed at the last minute.

On the night, ‘The Limitless One’ went to war with John Morrison and ‘Mr.’ Money in the Bank’ The Miz in a Handicap Match which was merely announced in a throwaway comment by the latter during an edition of Miz TV.

During that match, Lee shockingly lost to the heelish duo which drew the ire of fans who weren’t originally happy about events surrounding the star this past week which included him being sent to Main Event.

However, thanks to PWInsider, we now know that the original plan for the former NXT Champion wasn’t to compete in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match at all. According to the site, the blueprint would have seen just Lee vs. The Miz in singles action.

While no reason was given as for the change, it is believed that Morrison was added the fray late in the day in order to keep Keith Lee looking strong. With Miz slated to prevail, management spotted the potential for damage to the character in such a situation and believed that losing to two men was far more believable for a star like Lee, than losing to one.

Last week, it was reported that Keith Lee was among the names required by Vince McMahon to attend performance classes at the WWE Performance Center in order to improve their ring skills.
