Original Plans For Brock Lesnar At Elimination Chamber Revealed

Brock Lesnar at Elimination Chamber

On SmackDown, just 24 hours before Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Bray Wyatt laid down a challenge to the winner of the match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley.

Although it wasn’t stated at the time, it was believed this was for a match at WrestleMania.

At Elimination Chamber, Lashley got the win after Lesnar got himself disqualified. Since then, Lashley has begun a bizarre feud with Wyatt, while Lesnar will be facing Omos at WrestleMania 39. The Lesnar match in particular has caused much consternation among fans who believe the bout isn’t big enough for a star of The Beast’s standing.

This announcement was followed by a report which claimed that Vince McMahon was behind the Omos vs. Lesnar clash. It also came to light that Lesnar turned down a match with Bray Waytt at WrestleMania, and a meeting with Gunther was discussed.

It has now been revealed that Lesnar’s decision to not wrestle Wyatt at WrestleMania caused an 11th-hour change to his match at Elimination Chamber. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Lesnar had been due to win to set up the match with Wyatt.

“Originally what was going to happen was Brock was beating Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber, and that was going to lead to Brock against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, and that’s why Bray Wyatt did that interview (calling out the winner).

But after they did that, they had to change the finish.”

WWE Has A “Backup Plan” For Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

Among the swirling reports it was revealed that WWE also has a backup plan involving the match between Brock Lesnar and Omos. However, there is no word on what this plan could involve. Although it was said that Lesnar personally approved the match with Omos.
