Original Plans For AEW Dynamite Match Scrapped Two Weeks In A Row

AEW Dynamite saw Wardlow win the TNT Championship after beating Scorpio Sky. However, one match that was scheduled for the event, was cancelled for a second time.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the planned Penta Oscuro vs. Rush match was in fact meant to be a Tag Team match. It is unclear whether it was Andrade El Idolo or Rey Fenix who was unavailable for the match, however according to Meltzer, the match will still happen at some point in the future.

“So, originally, for the second week in a row, because they wanted to do this in Detroit (Blood & Guts), they wanted to do the tag match. Then this week they wanted to do the tag match, but either Fenix or Andrade was not ready. I don’t know which one, but it was one of the two. So, they are going to do the tag match at some point.”

Rush is a new signing to AEW, making his debut at Double or Nothing as a partner to Andrade El Idolo. Andrade has been in a few short-lived factions since he joined AEW, but pairing him with a fellow Mexican star, who he has history with, may turn his fortunes around.

Oscuro and Rush had an entertaining match on Dynamite, with Rush taking the win after ripping the mask from Penta Oscuro. This is the second week in a row this has happened to Penta Oscuro, both times at the hands of Andrade and Rush.
