Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson Drafted To WWE Main Roster

Gable Steveson

Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson has shockingly been drafted to Monday Night Raw.

Olympic Gold Medallist Steveson finally signed with WWE on September 9th in the first NIL deal in company history. Despite signing with WWE, Steveson will remain with the University of Minnesota to defend his NCAA Division One crown.

After winning Olympic Gold in Tokyo, Steveson became one of the most sought-after combat athletes in the world. With Steveson already an NCAA Champion, Danny Hodge Trophy winner and junior World Champion, his resume attracted a sting of suiters.

While it’s unclear as to when Steveson might make his WWE debut, the star has been drafted straight to Raw. This is despite having yet to make his debut in the professional ranks. Gable Steveson was drafted as the second pick for the red brand in the sixth round on night two of the 2021 WWE Draft.

Interestingly Steveson appeared to predict his rapid rise in an interview he gave shortly after signing with the company.

Appearing on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, the Olympian said that there was a “very big chance” that he would miss out NXT and move straight to the main roster.

“There is, I think, there is a very big chance I might go straight to the main roster and not go to NXT,” revels Steveson. “I was open to anything, but with the way things are going, I think I’m going to jump straight to the main roster. And I know there’s a lot to learn and I’m ready to soak everything in like a sponge and just be ready to go out and put a good show on for the crowd.”
