Oba Femi believes a former champion pushed him to the limits.

One of the most dominant men on the WWE roster right now, Oba Femi has pushed his way to the top. A former NXT North American Champion, Femi is now scheduled to face Eddy Thorpe and Trick Williams at New Year’s Evil for the NXT Championship.

Ahead of one of the biggest matches of his career, Femi recently appeared in an interview with Adam Barnard of Sports Illustrated. Reflecting on his experience working on the roster, and facing difficulties against former tag-team champion, Otis.

That is a lot of human being. You don’t know what you just did there. You just unlocked a hidden something my brain tried to bury and you just excavated it from the ground. That’s a lot of man coming down on you. Pause. But yeah, he’s a big man.”

Believing Otis pushed him to the limits, Femi commented,

I enjoyed working with Otis. He’s a very entertaining fellow. I like how he makes the smallest of things mean the most. He’s a star definitely so. [He] definitely pushed me into my limits as well. Just moving him around was difficult and when something is difficult, I embrace the challenge. So I appreciated my experience working with Otis.”

Otis and Femi faced off against each other on 13th August 2024, for the NXT North American Championship.

During the same interview, Oba Femi stated his goal to redefine what the big man style is in WWE when he reaches the main roster.
