WWE NXT talent Brandi Pawelek, also known as Brandi Lauren, has been renamed as Skyler Storey, per PWInsider.com.
WWE filed the trademark for the name recently, along with several others, and Brandi has become the most recent Superstar to be rebranded. It’s interesting to note, though, that “Skyler Story” was the trademark which was filed, as opposed to the reported spelling.
“Retro” Anthony Greene, whom Brandi was paired with in EVOLVE, was also renamed as August Grey.
Skyler Storey, as Brandi Lauren, has wrestled across EVOLVE and SHINE. However, Storey has also appeared on RAW and as part of NXT’s social media coverage in 2020 before officially signing with the company. Storey competed against Marina Shafir on RAW Underground, while the NXT appearance was part of a photoshoot which appeared on WWE’s social media channels with Storey alongside Damian Priest when the North American Champion celebrated his title win in a hot tub. Brandi Lauren, prior to this year, had also wrestled Lacey Evans in NXT.
Greene and Brandi were part of a recruitment class that also included new NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff, the number one contender to the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Curt Stallion, Joe Gacy, Josh Briggs, Jacob Kasper and Jake Clemons.
