NXT UK have teased the possible arrival of Bea Priestley in a new video titled, “Blair Davenport is coming to NXT UK: NXT UK, June 24, 2021.”
The recent edition of NXT UK aired a vignette, showing the arrival of a new wrestler. The video shows a figure opening a briefcase to retrieve an NXT UK contract. The figure believed to be Bea Priestley then signs the contract ‘Blair Davenport.’
It was rumoured Priestly had signed for WWE after she bode farewell to Japan earlier this year.
Priestley had returned to STARDOM in September when travel restrictions lifted. She made an instant impact by winning the SWA Undisputed World Women’s Title from Momo Watanabe.
She continued her quest for gold by winning the trios tag and the tag team titles. Priestley announced her departure from the Joshi promotion after an unsuccessful title challenge against Utami Hayashishita.
Priestley becomes the first wrestler to go from AEW to WWE. She signed to AEW in 2019 where she had an underrated feud with Britt Baker. AEW announced her release in March of last year due to the global pandemic.
The former AEW, NJPW and STARDOM star brings a wealth of experience star quality to the already impressive NXT UK women’s roster.
Elsewhere on NXT UK, Ilja Dragunov defeated Rampage Brown and Joe Coffey in a hard-hitting Triple Threat main event.
Dragunov hit a springboard Torpedo Moscow off the second turnbuckle on Brown to eventually pick up the win. After the match WALTER came to the ring to assess the potential threat to his United Kingdom Championship crown.
In scenes reminiscent of their stunning clash in 2020, the giant Austrian proceeded to choke out Dragunov leaving him laying. Posing with a foot on the semi-conscious Superstar as the show went off the air.
It has been confirmed that Tyler Bate will defend the Heritage Cup against Jack Starz, on the upcoming episode of the show.
