A former NXT Superstar made a shock appearance at the latest AEW Rampage taping in Houston, Texas.

Following the conclusion of the May 18th episode of AEW Dynamite, the company taped the latest edition of Rampage. The show will air on Friday May 20th.

At the taping, Shawn Spears continued his preparations for his Steel Cage match on the upcoming episode of Dynamite with Wardlow. Going into the taping it was advertised that Spears would be facing a mystery opponent, and that opponent was revealed to be Big Damo, who was known as Killian Dain in WWE.

The appearance marked the Northern Irish star’s first outing in AEW, having been released by WWE in June 2021.

After spells in ICW and Revolution Pro Wrestling among others, the star signed with WWE in 2016. After initially appearing as a singles wrestler he became part of SAnitY where he found himself feuding with Tye Dillinger, now known as Shawn Spears.

Despite a brief foray onto the main roster in 2018, Damo moved back to NXT the following year.

During the taping, Bryan Danielson was involved in a bizarre incident where his leg became trapped between the entrance ramp and the ring.

On the show, Bryan Danielson teamed with Jon Moxley to take on Matt Sydal and Dante Martin, who had challenged the Blackpool Combat Club to a match on Dynamite.

After the match, Danielson and Moxley were attacked by the Jericho Appreciation Society who they are currently feuding with. During the brawl, Danielson got his leg stuck between the entrance ramp and the ring. The star was trapped for up to ten minutes, before he was eventually freed. Once back on his feet, the star limped backstage, but was believed to not be seriously injured.
