NXT Superstar Anthony Greene has undergone a name change, and will henceforth be known as August Grey.
Grey’s Twitter handle and name were changed shortly before this week’s NXT aired.
Grey made his WWE debut as a participant in Timothy Thatcher’s Thatch-As-Thatch-Can segment on October 22, with the submission specialist making Grey, then known as Anthony Greene, tap before refusing to release the hold and adding even more torque to it.
On this week’s NXT, Grey would seek vengeance, attacking Thatcher in his own Thatch-As-Thatch-Can ring in a backstage segment after being on the receiving end of a submission manoeuvre from Thatcher two weeks ago.

WWE officially announced the signing of former EVOLVE star “Retro” Anthony Greene at the beginning of last month. I had broken the news of his signingvia Sportskeeda back in August. In EVOLVE Wrestling, 26-year-old Greene competed against NXT Tag Team Champion Tyler Breeze and made his name as a new-school wrestler with an old-school attitude. Greene had been paired with fellow new signee Brandi Lauren while working in EVOLVE.
Anthony Greene, now August Grey, was part of a recruitment class that also included Brandi Lauren, Curt Stallion, Leon Ruff, Joe Gacy, Josh Briggs, Jacob Kasper and Jake Clemons.
