After an impressive showing in the men’s WWE Royal Rumble match Bron Breakker wants to make the main roster his home.
The event always promises surprises and the appearance of the second-generation superstar was certainly one of them. Breakker entered the match as the 20th entrant and wasted little time in proving his worth.
During his time in the match delivered several wince-inducing spears and eliminated Finn Balor, Ivar, Jimmy Uso, and Omos. He was eventually thrown out by Dominik Mysterio, which seems to have put a target on the back of the Judgment Day member.
Speaking to Cathy Kelly in a backstage interview, the NXT powerhouse reflected on his first Rumble appearance before stating he was far from done with the Judgment Day.
I feel very grateful right now. I feel what an opportunity tonight was for me to make a statement, and I thought I did that tonight 100%. Things didn’t go my way but I’m not done with the Judgement Day by any means.
Breakker wants his Royal Rumble appearance to signal his arrival on the WWE main roster and went on to declare that he belongs there before calling it his “home”.
I think tonight I proved that I belong in the main roster, this is my home now. I’m ready for the work, I’m ready to prove to my peers and to the people, everyone out there who believes in me that this is where I belong and this is what I was born to do. I’m here. I’m ready to go. [h/t SE Scoops]
Breakker wasn’t the only member of the NXT roster to appear at the event. Carmelo Hayes also entered the men’s Rumble match while Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton made their presence felt in the women’s outing.
Did Bron Breakker replace Brock Lesnar in the WWE Royal Rumble?
According to reports, Breakker replaced Lesnar in the Rumble match due to the former Universal Champion being pulled from the event. Lesnar was named in the horrific allegations of sexual assault against Vince McMahon and therefore removed from appearing on the show.
Following Breakker’s comments, Shawn Michaels has given his thoughts.
