WWE NXT is scheduled to present Halloween Havoc on Saturday, October 22nd, the first premium live event since it officially merged with NXT UK at the beginning of September with Worlds Collide. That show, held mere hours before AEW All Out, saw the unification of the two brands’ championships, as Bron Breakker, Mandy Rose, and Pretty Deadly left draped in gold.
Looking past Halloween Havoc, however, it appears the next WWE NXT live special may be taking place in December. As reported by Fightful Select, company personnel have been told to keep Saturday, December 10th free, hinting that the show – which may be named Deadline, per a recent trademark filing – will take place on the same day as ROH Final Battle.
The current plan is for the event to be held from the WWE Performance Center, as has been the case since 2020, with the event slated to be officially confirmed at Halloween Havoc.
NXT Deadline Looks To Replace WarGames
Of course, the usual spot for an NXT special in November/December time would have traditionally seen a WarGames card. The WCW Fall Brawl staple had been used in the brand since 2017 to great acclaim, and has now been brought to the main roster with WWE Survivor Series: WarGames slated for November 26th.
Previous events under the banner have seen the likes of Adam Cole, Pat McAfee, and IYO SKY perform daredevil spots inside the caged two-ring structure. The 2021 instalment, which appears to have been the last for NXT, saw two WarGames matches, as Team 2.0 defeated Team Black and Gold, while a team led by Raquel Gonzalez bested a Mandy Rose-led quartet.
NXT Deadline, should this be the official name of the tentatively scheduled December 10th card, has big shoes to fill in this slot, with WarGames having been the most anticipated NXT show of the year. Expect full details of this show come October 22nd at Halloween Havoc.
