NXT Sees Big Viewership Boost With Help From Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio celebrates with Judgment Day

Dominik Mysterio is not only a big time heel, but he’s a big ratings draw for NXT.

Viewership numbers were released courtesy of Wrestlenomics for Tuesday evening and it’s good news for the black and gold brand. The July 18 episode of NXT garnered an average of 746,000 total viewers, handedly beating out last week’s impressive number of 671,000, totaling for a 11% increase. This is the second-highest number the show has gotten since 2021, only being beaten out earlier this year otherwise.

Despite the big total viewership tally, the key demographic stayed nearly the same for NXT. This week, the program had 0.21 P18-49 rating, up slightly from last week’s 0.20 P18-49 rating.

However, if you were to look back at a year ago, the numbers for NXT are even more impressive. In comparison to 2022, NXT is up 22% in total viewership and almost 40% in the key demographic as last year had a 0.13 P18-49 rating.

“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio Delivered For 7/18 NXT

Dominik Mysterio made a major impact not only in viewership, but in the NXT title picture. The former convict happened to defeat Wes Lee for his NXT North American Championship, making him a champion alongside his “Mami” Rhea Ripley.

Fans who tuned into the program also saw Kiana James battle Gigi Dolin, Dragon Lee team with Nathan Frazer to face Los Lotharios and Thea Hail face off against Elektra Lopez.

Also getting those prison vibes is Tony D’Angelo who was just released from the clinker as he and Stacks Lorenzo look to compete for the Tag Team Titles against Gallus.
