NXT have provided an update on their COVID-19 procedures for fans attending live shows.

In an email shared on social media by Jon Alba, the company explain that COVID testing will now be conducted on site the day of the event. The tests will be conducted free of charge and regardless of vaccination status.

Previously fans were required to undertake a test the day prior to the event.

The email, which has been sent to fans who have previously attended events, is in reference to the upcoming May 18th episode of the show.

It is also reaffirmed that face coverings are mandatory throughout the event.

The update comes after it was reported that NXT will be back running live shows in the third quarter of 2021. It has also been suggested that WWE are looking to return to the road this summer.

Meanwhile, WWE’s summer spectacular SummerSlam, will reportedly be used a launch pad for a return to touring.

Elsewhere, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has said that he will be “issuing an executive order to outlaw all local COVID-19 emergency mandates in the state effective July 1.” With WWE currently based in Florida, this could have huge implications with regard to running shows in front of a live crowd.

There is no news on whether the new NXT procedures will enable more fans to return to events.

Inside The Ropes will have further updates as and when the story develops.
