Following a blockbuster week including winning the Royal Rumble for a second time and competing on RAW for the first time in over a decade, Edge is looking to top it all off with an appearance on NXT!
The winner of the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble took to Twitter to tease fans, revealing that he’s in Orlando to see his wife Beth Phoenix – who provides commentary for the black and yellow brand – and could be headed to the Capitol Wrestling Center!
“In Orlando to visit my wife. Then I had a thought, NXT needs to get Rated R.”
Shortly after, it was officially confirmed on WWE.com that the WWE Hall of Famer would be making his NXT debut just three days after securing a championship match at WrestleMania 37! Currently, there are no details as to what Edge will be doing on the program beyond simply making an appearance.
This isn’t the first time Edge has hinted at his interest in the black and gold brand. Last July, the Rated R Superstar responded to a collaboration request from Robert Stone claiming that he wanted an NXT TakeOver match with Finn Balor, alongside Fuschia M&Ms and his very own bus!
Ok @RobertStoneWWE my man! Let’s collab. Get me a match vs @FinnBalor at Takeover, I only want fuschia m&m’s(they don’t make those, so figure it out), ideas on someone to help me cosplay the pic below, crushed velvet furniture on my bus, oh yeah a bus(everyone has em now) etc etc https://t.co/Jf3AgK0fWJpic.twitter.com/PlOSpnpWyj

The now-NXT Champion would reply with a short but effective message, making it clear he didn’t want Edge to come alone in what would undoubtedly be a dream match for many!
“Brood vs D❌❌❌❌”
Edge has had what can only be described as a monumental week: After entering at #1 in the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble, the Rated R Superstar would outlast 29 other men – including a returning Christian – to become only the fifth man to win the Royal Rumble match twice, fittingly on the 11th anniversary of his first Rumble match win in 2010.
The WWE Hall of Famer is now free to challenge any WWE world champion at this upcoming WrestleMania including Finn Balor himself, as set by Charlotte Flair’s precedent of using her Royal Rumble win to challenge NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36 last year.
