Recent NXT Match Described Internally As “The Worst Match On A WWE Broadcast This Year”

A new report has suggested that a recent match featuring NXT stars has been discussed within the company as one of the “worst” to make TV in 2021.

Since the revamp to NXT in September 2021 which saw it become NXT 2.0, a new generation of stars with varying degrees of wrestling experience have come to the forefront of the brand.

One of that new crop of stars is former WNBA star Lash Legend who recently made her in-ring debut for the company on the 10th of December edition of 205 Live with a win over Amari Miller.

It is, however, Legend’s bout with Japanese star Sarray which aired on the 17th of December edition of 205 Live that has got tongues wagging according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

It was noted by Dave Meltzer in his Newsletter that many onlookers, as well as those within the company, have singled the match out as possibly the worst to make the air in WWE all year:

“Those who just saw the match on 205 Live noted how it may have been the worst match on a WWE broadcast this year and it was back to ripping on the trainers and such. From internal sources, we were told it was one of the most edited matches before it aired, and it was described that they cut it down to 3:00 of “highlights” and it in that form was still the worst television match for WWE this year.”

Sarray is perhaps better known as Sareee from her days working in her native Japan. The ten-year veteran joined WWE in April 2021. Despite her victory over Legend, Sarray has suffered several defeats on NXT 2.0, most recently to former NXT UK Women’s Champion, Kay Lee Ray.
