Here are the brand new number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
One week before WrestleMania 41 on the 11th April episode of SmackDown, fans saw the women’s tag team championship number one contender gauntlet match take place. As Lyra Valkyria and Bayley began the match, the following teams showed up in order: Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, Natalya and Maxxine Dupri, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, Michin and B-Fab, and Alba Fyre and Piper Niven.
Soon enough, the team of Valkyria and The Role Model began a hot run of victories. First eliminating Baszler with a roll up, the duo continued it with Dupri. However, as soon as they began facing a fight from Carter and Chance, Valkyria dropped Chance with a Nightwing and earned the point for that round. It was then followed up by a Rose Plant from Bayley on B-Fab, and closed that round.
The final round of the gauntlet match saw a fresh Fyre and Niven take on the worn-out Bayley and Valkyria. Facing tough competition from Chelsea Green’s special HERvice, the women’s Intercontinental Champion scored the pinfall over Fyre. Wrestling for nearly 30 minutes, the newly formed team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria won over the other teams and earned their title match at WrestleMania 41 against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
However, as Women’s IC Champion Valkyria booked her berth for Mania 41, the women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green still finds herself left out of the match card.
Tiffany Stratton Has A Message For Charlotte Flair Ahead Of Their WWE WrestleMania Match
Speaking to Jan Murphy of the Toronto Sun as part of the Onefall podcast,Tiffany Stratton claimed that she was here to take over Charlotte Flair’s place.
“Yeah, I think this match doesn’t even it doesn’t even start with the past six weeks. It doesn’t even start with her winning the Royal Rumble and her picking me. I think it starts with she’s the reason why I got into wrestling. She is who I looked up to, who I saw on my TV screen, who I idolized, and I had it already set in my mind that she is a dream match of mine, even before I got signed to WWE.
So this goes back much farther than that. She’s obviously one of my idols, and at WrestleMania, I think this is when I solidify that I am the new generation and and I’m here to take her place.”
