A number of previously suspended AEW personnel are now free to return to work while the status of others remains unclear.
Following reports that Pat Buck was in attendance at for the September 14th edition of AEW Dynamite in Albany, New York it has now been confirmed that a number of other personnel have also had their suspensions lifted.
The report from Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio noted that along with Buck, Brandon Cutler, Christopher Daniels and Michael Nakazawa have had their suspensions ended. However, the status of the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, CM Punk and Ace Steel remains “up in the air.”
All of the names listed above had been suspended following a brawl that took place backstage following AEW All Out. The incident was sparked by comments made by CM Punk during the media scrum in which he criticised The Elite as well as Hangman Adam Page and Colt Cabana.
The melee backstage saw punches and chairs thrown, while it is claimed that Steel bit Kenny Omega.
On the following episode of Dynamite, the AEW World Championship and World Trios Championships were declared vacant. The former had been held by CM Punk while the Bucks and Omega held the latter. The Trios Titles have since been won by Death Triangle, while Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley will meet at Dynamite Grand Slam to determine a new World Champion.
Christopher Daniels, Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa are all currently in Japan.
