Noah Centineo, co-star of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, recently opened up about the massive reboot coming for the DC Universe (DCU). With Johnson’s exit from the franchise and a new wave of leadership taking over at DC Studios, the newly-renovated DCU is set to take on a whole new life.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Centineo spoke about the changes taking place in the DC Universe, and he was eager to hear what James Gunn and Peter Safran have in store.
“I honestly can’t even speak to any of that. I don’t really know what their plan is, and I’m psyched to see what they do with the DC world. For me, I’m just really excited to see Peter Safran and James Gunn‘s vision for DC, those guys, they know what they’re doing. So, we’ll give it to him. I’m excited,” he said.
Noah Centineo Discusses Working With Dwayne Johnson
Centineo also shared the fond memories he has of working on Black Adam. He admitted that he had never “enjoyed four months on a shoot like [he] did” for that movie, and he spoke highly of the cast and crew, who all became like family. He went on to praise Dwayne Johnson for setting the tone on the set, and he credited Johnson for organizing dinners and experiences for everyone to share.
The actor shared his thoughts on the reports of Johnson’s messy exit from the franchise, saying that he had to have “the guts to fail” after seeing how the movie performed. He ended his interview by expressing his hope that the film’s heart will remain in conversations as the new story moves forward.
The future of the DCU is still very much up in the air, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating and sharing their own theories. With James Gunn and Peter Safran set to announce their initial plans for the revamped universe, fans can expect to see a brand new DCU story come to life in the near future. It may no longer involve Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, but it looks like one of the movie’s stars is still holding onto the hope that the film’s heart will live on.
