NJPW Superstar Tom Lawlor has taken to social media to react to the shocking news that his highly anticipated clash with Adam Cole at AEW’s Forbidden Door PPV has been cancelled.
Just hours before the show, AEW owner Tony Khan took to social media to share the shocking news that Adam Cole had come down with an undisclosed illness just hours before the show and as a result his interpromotional clash against ‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor had been cancelled.
The match was set to be the former MLW stars debut in AEW after being brought in by fellow MLW alumni MJF to take care of the current challenger for the ‘Salt of the Earth’s’ AEW World Championship.
Taking to Twitter, Lawlor would share his thoughts on the news, in a simple, yet effective, manner, stating that he is “f*cking gutted.” A sentiment shared by many fans on social media.

Fightful Select has revealed that during the dark matches for tonight’s PPV, Tom Lawlor defeated Serpentico in quick manner, putting a dampener on what was surely one of the biggest night’s of the UFC star’s career.
The report would also reveal that there was some concern that Cole was “banged up” after his match with MJF but that he is still expected on TV moving forward.
