NJPW star Jeff Cobb has made a reference to the recent legal problems Michael Elgin has seemingly experienced.
Pro Wrestling NOAH announced on July 10th that Michael Elgin would miss their Shizuoka show. At the time, no reason for the absence was given.
Several days later it was revealed that he and his tag team partner, Masa Kitamiya would be stripped of the GHC Tag Team Championships.
Now, comments made by Jeff Cobb at the press conference ahead of NJPW G1 Climax 32 have taken on new meaning. The United Empire man had jokingly accused his fellow tournament entrants that they had been “stealing protein”.

Jeff Cobb has had issues with Michael Elgin since 2017 when text messages emerged showing Elgin badmouthing the star while on his first tour with NJPW.
Cobb is currently participating in G1 Climax 32. He took on Kazuchicka Okada in the main event of the opening night of the tournament. However, he was unable to overcome The Rainmaker despite his best efforts.
