NJPW Star Issues Challenge To WWE Star Randy Orton For Wrestle Kingdom 19

A member of the NJPW roster wants to face Randy Orton inside The Tokyo Dome.

Although The Viper has accomplished just about everything there is to achieve in WWE including headlining WrestleMania twice, he has never competed at New Japan’s biggest show of the year. While at one point this seemed like an impossibility, contracted WWE stars have made appearances at Wrestle Kingdom in the past and the company is more willing to partner with other promotions than ever before.

If somehow the stars aligned and one of the biggest stars in WWE today was booked for a match at Wrestle Kingdom, NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd has already laid down the challenge.

Appearing on Wresthings, Kidd discussed the “real Forbidden Door” and made his case to have Orton appear inside the Tokyo Dome:

“I’ll say this right now, you want to talk about a real Forbidden Door, let’s open it. I’ll f*cking put this out there right now. Wrestle Kingdom 19, I want Randy Orton one on one. I’m saying that right now. He had a bit of beef with Will Ospreay back in the day, he didn’t do shit about it. Randy Orton, I want you one on one. You want to open the real Forbidden Door? I don’t give a f*ck about AEW. I’ll deal with them when I go there. I’ll deal with them at the official Forbidden Door.

Wrestle Kingdom 19, I want Orton. Look at me. I’m the legend killer now. I killed [Hiroshi] Tanahashi, I’m gonna kill off Shingo [Takagi], I’m gonna kill off all these Japanese legends, then I’m coming for your head. Don’t get it twisted, I will fuck up Randy Orton.”

Also in the interview, Gabe Kidd made some fiery comments about The Rock.

Randy Orton Looks To The Future

Not long after his main roster debut, many predicted big things for Orton and had him marked as a star of the future. More than 20 years later Orton is now the most tenured member of the roster with no signs of slowing down. When asked which rising star could be a future World Champion, Randy Orton gave his thoughts.

H/t to Fightful.
