A popular NJPW star has teased their WWE move.
Recently, reports emerged about WWE allegedly being interested in hiring New Japan star Jeff Cobb. As per Fightful Select, the promotion has had their eye on Cobb for some time now. With Cobb also reportedly on his way out of the Japanese promotion, his WWE arrival rumors have become much stronger.
However, the speculations took a backseat when Cobb defeated Tetsuya Naito to advance to the quarterfinals of the New Japan Cup tournament, but lost to Shota Umino in the Quarter finals. Following his match, he appeared in a backstage interview, and set his sights on the winner of the New Japan Cup tour. With a phrase strikingly similar to Roman Reigns, Cobb teased his WWE move.
“I’m gonna be a good boy and finish this tournament tour and whoever walks out the New Japan Cup champion, I will come knock, knock, knocking, and whoever it is I have to fight, you will acknowledge me.”
