The Rock caused quite a buzz when he wore a NJPW T-shirt.
The People’s Champ posted an intriguing video on social media that set the wrestling rumour mill running wild. The video shows the Great One donning a T-shirt with New Japan Pro Wrestling’s iconic Lion Mark logo on it while pondering over a Rubik’s Cube.
The video caused quite a stir and led to speculation that a partnership between the two companies may be in the works. But while that remains pure speculation, the Japanese promotion has reacted to the post on their official Instagram account.
The promotion posted a still of The Rock wearing their shirt along with the caption:
IFFFF YAAAAA SMELLLLL WHAT THE LION IS COOKING.
Will The Rock Be At WrestleMania 41?
But with the biggest event in the WWE calendar right around the corner, the TKO board member’s inclusion remains uncertain. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter spoke about The Brahma Bull’s possible appearance at WrestleMania, stating:
“Travis Scott is currently in WrestleMania plans. As for Dwayne Johnson, who hasn’t been around and his name has been barely mentioned, it’s all up to Dwayne Johnson.
Everyone presumes he’ll be there in some form the day of the show, but it’s not confirmed to anyone either. Perhaps his appearance is being kept secret, but I’m not sure why given everyone would expect him to begin with,” Meltzer added.
The uncertainty surrounding Johnson’s status is notable, especially considering that the original creative direction reportedly involved him helping Cena capture the Undisputed WWE Title.
“But obviously the original idea was likely to be The Rock helping Cena win the title.”
However, in recent weeks, his name has only been mentioned in passing, but it would seem likely that Johnson will show up at WrestleMania, given his involvement in Rhodes’ storylines since early 2024.
In other news, Heath Slater has looked back on his matches against WWE legends.
