In something more in line with Dominik Mysterio, NJPW has announced the first ever ‘who’s your daddy?’ match to be held in the promotion…or possibly anywhere.
New Japan Pro Wrestling’s October event held at Ryogoku Sumo Hall is this year being branded as Declaration of Power – compared to being the promotion’s King of Pro Wrestling show in recent years.
On the card, Shingo Takagi will defend his 2022 KOPW crown against Bullet Club’s El Phantasmo in a very special sort of match. Not only will Takagi’s King of Pro Wrestling trophy be on the line but the loser will have to take to the microphone after the bout and call the winner their “daddy.”
Also announced for the show is former NXT star KUSHIDA taking on Taiji Ishimori and Kazuchika Okada facing JONAH. The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will also be on the line as Switchblade Jay White faces his former Bullet Club partner Tama Tonga.
Before Declaration of Power, NJPW returns to the UK with their two-night Royal Quest II show in London. The full cards for both nights have now been announced with AEW’s FTR meeting United Empire’s Aussie Open with their IWGP Tag Team Championship on the line.
As for Dominik Mysterio, anyone that watches Raw knows exactly who he’s calling daddy – or mami – these days.
