A NJPW Champion is not intimidated by The Rock and is willing to put him in his place if they ever meet.
Making his return to wrestling on January 1st, the Hollywood star was extremely active throughout the first 4 months of 2024 with multiple appearances on WWE programming, announced as a member of the Board of Directors and had his first match in 8 years at WrestleMania 40.
Following the Raw after WrestleMania, The People’s Champion announced that he was going on hiatus once more to fulfil his Hollywood obligations. While future matches with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns seem to be inevitable, one NJPW star has let their feelings be known.
Never one to be short on things to say, NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd cut an expletive-filled promo on the former World Champion while appearing on Wresthings:
“Hey, f*ck The Rock as well. I’ll beat the shit out of The Rock. I’ll slap the sh*t out of The Rock, little part-timer. You want some real wrestling, come to New Japan.”
Original Plans For The Rock Would Not Have Been Well-Received
Competing in a tag team match in the main event of night 1 and factoring into the main event of night 2, Rock’s involvement over WrestleMania weekend was praised by the fans as they got to see The Great One perform and Cody Rhodes was also able to finish the story. However, according to a recent report, The Rock’s original plans would have been “hated more than life itself.”
Recently it was reported that NJPW star Hikuleo has finished with the company and will join WWE.
Also in the interview, the same NJPW star issued a challenge to Randy Orton.
H/t to Fightful.
