NXT 2.0 star Nikkita Lyons provided an update on the injury that took her out of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.
It was announced during the most recent episode of NXT 2.0 that viral star Nikkita Lyons was injured and no longer able to compete in the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Lyons had secured her way into the semifinals of the tournament by defeating Arianna Grace in the first round.
Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen appeared in a segment to announce the injury and said that she’d had a “freak accident” while training, but the nature of her injury is undisclosed. The injury was also announced on WWE’s social media.
Now, Nikkita Lyons herself took to social media and provided an update on her condition, revealing that she’s suffering from a partial tear of her MCL. She did not provide a timeframe for her return to NXT but says that her comeback will be stronger than the setback she’s currently facing.
“I have a partial tear on my MCL, just a sprain. So it could have been worse, but it did refrain me from being able to compete in the Women’s Breakout Tournament. So, that is why your girl is out, but only for… the comeback is always stronger than the setback.”
Lyons was supposed to take on Fallon Henley in the tournament semifinals, and while Henley was originally given a bye into the finals, she ended up accepting Tiffany Stratton’s challenge. In the end, Stratton was able to defeat Fallon Henley and will be moving on to the tournament finals.
Meanwhile, Roxanne Perez also secured her way to the finals of the tournament when she defeated Lash Legend, who has been feuding with Nikkita Lyons for months.
