NXT star Nikkita Lyons has seemingly taken issue with reports that suggested she missed SmackDown due to being unvaccinated against COVID-19.
The tournament for the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships continued on SmackDown on the 19th of August, where NXT 2.0’s Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark were slated to face Natalya and Sonya Deville. Instead, Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne replaced Lyons and Stark, advancing to the semifinals.
In the aftermath of this announcement, Nikkita Lyons was noted as being “medically unavailable”, a story that Dave Meltzer confirmed in a daily news update via F4WOnline was due to her unvaccinated status. Zoey Stark was listed as having suffered a concussion:
“Stark suffered a concussion in her match Tuesday with Mandy Rose and wasn’t cleared. Lyons wouldn’t have been allowed to go as they didn’t realize she wasn’t vaccinated and thus couldn’t get into Canada.”
Now Nikkita Lyons has seemingly taken issue with that story, responding to someone on social media who asked if she’d still have been “medically unavailable” if she’d been vaccinated to which she replied:
“Yes, it didn’t have anything to do with the vaccine. One day I may do a live on ig or something and share. I hope you have a blessed night.”
Nikkita Lyons is not currently scheduled for the 23rd of August edition of NXT 2.0 which will see Wendy Choo take on Tiffany Stratton in a Lights Out match.
