WWE Hall Of Famer Nikki Bella has praised both female WrestleMania main event participants after Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair’s historic SmackDown Women’s Title match.
Bella entered the WWE Hall Of Fame as part of the delayed Class of 2020 along with sister Brie. The twins were part of the Hall Of Fame lineup showcased on the first night of WrestleMania. The sisters were also joined by JBL, The British Bulldog, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, the nWo, William Shatner, and Warrior Award winner Titus O’Neil.
WrestleMania Saturday’s main event was the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Belair earned the match by winning the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match. Banks had been champion since defeating Bayley for the title inside Hell In A Cell.
Nikki Bella took to social media to give her thoughts on the match and both the women involved:
“What a historic and memorable moment. These two women raised the bar, set new standards, and showed what felt like was impossible was possible. The main event spot is never given, purely earned. Sasha Banks is the GOAT of this era and paving a whole new road for women like Bianca. As women we have the pressure to always deliver and they went beyond the expected! I was so proud as a woman watching! Proud that two black women main evented WrestleMania, stole the show, inspired and empowered millions around the world! Thank you both so much!!”
Recent reports have suggested that Nikki Bella and sister Brie could be heading for a return to the wrestling ring. The sisters competed in their last matches in the autumn of 2018. Nikki’s final bout was the main event match at the women-only Evolution event. She unsuccessfully challenged Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship before then hanging up her boots.
