Nikki Bella shares the story behind the blunder.
The former Divas Champion’s return got all the attention for one reason- her mispronouncing Stephanie Vaquer‘s last name.
On a recent episode of the Nikki and Brie Show, Nikki shed light on how she ended up making the mistake.
Nikki explained that she met Stephanie backstage and asked the star for help pronouncing her last name. Although Vaquer said it with an accent, Nikki repeated it back to La Primera, who said it sounded correct.
Nikki added that she didn’t want to be fixated on just one name, or there was a possibility that she would mess up the segment. She said:
“I can’t tell you how many times I went over Stephanie Vaquer’s, feel like I am still saying it wrong, her last name. I even was asking her, but she says that of course in a beautiful Latina accent, when I would repeat it after her, she’s like perfect, like I was saying it amazing, but then you get in your head and then I am like wait, I can’t be hooked on to one last name or then I am going to mess everything up.”
Bella revealed that she even asked other people backstage for guidance, and even though she had gotten it right, she wanted to say it with some flair, which ultimately led to the mistake
“Like, I wanted to say a bunch of people’s names, so I got, I didn’t want to get too hooked on hers, but then, I was asking people and they were like, no you just say it like Vaquer, like think care at the end you know, and then I am like ok, but then I wanted to say it with some spice. so, I got to work on that.”
This just seems like an incident of Nikki Bella just being caught up in the moment. Fortunately, it ended up being a lighthearted situation that everyone could laugh about.
What’s Next For Nikki Bella
While there were rumors about her schedule, Nikki’s appearance is not a one-off.
According to a report, WWE is planning a showdown between Nikki Bella and Liv Morgan at Evolution. Nikki Bella is scheduled to appear on next week’s RAW, which is expected to kick off the buildup for the match heading into the revived PLE.
