Former WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella, has spoken out about wanting to transition into a creative role backstage in WWE.
Since the birth of her first child in summer of 2020, Nikki, along with sister Brie has talked on several different occasions about returning to the ring for one last run. The Bella Twins even set the embers alight on social media when they responded to a tweet by WWE asking who could stop the team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.
Following their tease, Nikki’s fiancĂ©, Artem Chigvintsev, conducted an interview in which he stated that the siblings would return to the ring without a doubt.
However, now Nikki Bella and Brie Bella have sat down with Ashley Graham on Pretty Big Deal in order to talk bout the creative role the ‘Fearless’ one hopes to fulfil when she’s finally done with taking bumps.
“Brie’s husband [Daniel Bryan] is part of the creative team and works a lot with Vince McMahon on the creative stuff. I’ve always thought, in the back of my head, ‘I would really like to do that for the women.’ I’ve lived it as a WWE Superstar, but I’m also a fan. I know the people and I know how to get the best out of each woman because I know them. It’d be a lot of fun to be on creative.”
Pitching in on the comment, Brie was confident that her sister and her husband could be a major asset to WWE as a team behind the stage:
“What’s cool is, my husband works with well-trained writers who come from TV shows and done great. With their writing skills and my husband’s wrestling ability and experience, they come up with great stuff. They’ll come up with a good idea and my husband will be like, ‘as a babyface, it’s hard to make that happen.'”
As Brie and Nikki stated, former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan is currently working a joint role in the company as on-screen talent and a member of creative behind the scenes. Bryan has control over where his character goes and has recently attempted to convince the company that more NXT call-ups are needed in order to create new stars.
The last time we saw Nikki Bella on WWE television was at WWE Evolution on October 28, 2018, when she unsuccessfully challenged Ronda Rousey for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. Following the loss, Bella participated in matches against Rousey on live events up to November 9.
