Nikki A.S.H On Showdown With Alexa Bliss – “Every Hero Needs A Villain”

Nikki A.S.H and Alexa Bliss have quite the history, and as the pair prepare to do battle once more at Money in The Bank, potentially quite the future.

Bliss and A.S.H, then known as Nikki Cross, initially started out as friends. Back in April 2020 after Cross worked her way into Bliss’ affections, the pair began teaming together, winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles that August. The somewhat unlikely duo later won the titles for a second time at WrestleMania 36.

However, as tends to be the way in professional wrestling, there was to be no happy ever after the duo. Into the summer of 2020, trouble began to afflict the team which only heightened as Bliss came under the spell of The Fiend, Bray Wyatt. Despite Cross’ best efforts to maintain their friendship, Bliss continued to send her attention elsewhere.

The pair have remained apart as Bliss fully transitioned into the wicked witch of WWE. That is until the June 21st edition of Monday Night RAW when the former tag champions reunited to claim places in the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match. Although, by now Nikki Cross had undergone a transformation of her own, morphing into a superhero.

Now known as Nikki A.S.H (Almost A Superhero), the former NXT Superstar has been looking ahead to potential showdown between the former friends. Speaking to Sportskeeda, A.S.H explained how every superhero needs a supervillain.

“Every hero needs a villain. Every superhero needs a supervillain. I think the history with me and Alexa and being former two-time Women’s Tag Team Champions, there’s so much richness there, and there is so much story there. There’s so much past. I would love to do something. I think that the fans would love to see it too. And for me, as ‘Almost a Superhero,’ I need to be ready to take on any challenges.”

Nikki continued, saying that it’s a great time to be a fan, due to all of the possibilities for her new character.

“There’s a lot of villains. There’s a lot of evildoers in WWE and I’m ready and I’m excited for all challengers. And I absolutely think there’s meat on that (Alexa Bliss) story. I think there’s meat on so many different stories we can tell. And I think it’s a great time to be a fan and watch and see where we go in this universe.”

A.S.H later discussed her excitement to at first pitch and then debut the new character, describing how much she believes in her new persona.

“I believed so much in this idea. Like I believe in this idea with all my heart, like every part of it. I was excited to pitch it. I was excited to present it. And they were on board and we got given the green light. Then there was collaboration. The team worked together for months on different aspects and different things. And then you see it brought to life and I do the debut on Monday Night RAW. And it’s this very proud, very satisfying, very fulfilling moment.”

Nikki A.S.H has been on something of a roll in the last two months, holding victories over Charlotte Flair and RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.

WWE’s resident superhero and Alexa Bliss will meet on July 18th, as they attempt to gain possession of the Money In The Bank briefcase to earn a future Women’s Championship match.
