Gunther

How Triple H Convinced Gunther To Initially Join WWE

Gunther Explains Why He "Stands Out From The Pack" In WWE

Gunther has revealed Triple H was responsible for convincing him to sign with WWE.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, the current World Heavyweight Champion admitted he was initially reluctant to sign with WWE and even turned the company down twice. In the end, though, he was convinced by Triple H.

I never saw myself there. I thought like, what I’ve got to offer is me. And that’s all I’ve got. And I’m happy to work on myself. I’m happy to improve on myself. But at the core, it’s always gonna be me. And I was never interested in, I don’t know, portraying someone else’s fantasy.

When there’s an opportunity and everybody jumps at it at the same time… it gives me a weird feeling. I was like, ‘man, maybe I sit this out first and see how it goes.’ It worked out in the end, but Hunter was always the guy that said… Hey man, I see a big future here for you and if you want to do it, then I’m on board,

Randy Orton

Randy Orton Has High Praise For Evolution Stablemate Triple H

WM25 Randy Orton Triple H

Randy Orton believes Triple H is one of wrestling’s greatest minds ever.

In a new WWE YouTube video where various stars discuss advice they got from Triple H, Randy Orton reflected on the current WWE Chief Content Officer helping him earlier in his career and praised him as one of the industry’s greatest talents.

When I think of Triple H, I think of the greatest mind this business has ever seen. You hear about, you know, the goats, the boats, you know, the greatest of all time. I really think Triple H could be the greatest, definitely top three greatest in-ring performers of all time.

But it doesn’t just stop there. What Hunter is amazing at is helping other talent. He helped me at a very young age, stated as a fact that if it wasn’t for Triple H seeing something in me when I was 21, 22 years old, things that I didn’t even see in myself, I wouldn’t be standing here today speaking on this topic.

He’s an amazing in-ring performer, but his contributions outside of the ring, what he does for the show now that he’s running creative, hands down, just the greatest mind.

I know I can go to him at any time and ask him his advice. 10 times out of 10, he’s thinking, of things that I hadn’t even pondered. Talking about promos, talking about matches, anything to do with this business. That man, he knows the answer.

That’s a few of the reasons, just a few, of why Triple H definitely belongs in the Hall of Fame.

PAC

PAC Suffers Legitimate Injury During AEW Dynamite

PAC posing in the ring at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023

PAC has unfortunately suffered an injury.

During his match with Swerve Strickland on last night’s edition of AEW Dynamite, PAC appeared to suffer an injury following a buckle bomb into the corner. The Death Riders member clutched his right foot/ankle and rolled to the outside where Doc Sampson checked over him.

After a short while, he reentered the ring and was quickly beaten by Swerve with a Superkick followed by the Swerve Stomp off the top. PWInsider reports that the injury is legitimate and that PAC had to be helped to the back afterwards.

There’s currently no word on the specifics of the injury nor its severity. Everyone here at Inside The Ropes wishes PAC the best in his recovery.

Nick Khan: It's A Mistake To Base WWE Decisions On Social Media

Nick Khan speaking at the CAA World Congress of Sports

WWE President Nick Khan doesn’t agree with making business decisions based on social media reactions.

While on stage at the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas yesterday, Khan shot down the idea that WWE make, or pivot from, business decisions based on how fans react on social media.

It’s a small percentage of voices who have a big microphone or megaphone in front of them. It’s a mistake to respond to your business based off of that. You’ve got to base it off your gut and the results.

What do people like? They like dramas. They like conflict. They like to see conflict being resolved one way or another. As Paul mentioned, in our business, you get to knock each other out in a 20×20 ring. People like that too. So for us, we want to appeal to everybody.

Despite Khan’s comments, social media has impacted WWE programming in the past: Most famously, the hashtag #GiveDivasAChance went viral on the former Twitter back in 2015, leading the term ‘Diva’ to be abandoned on top of drastic creative changes in the WWE women’s division.
