Nick Aldis Done With IMPACT Wrestling, Reported Interest From WWE

Nick Aldis is done with IMPACT Wrestling, but what’s next on the horizon for The National Treasure?

PWInsider is reporting that after this past weekend’s Slammiversary, Aldis has finished his obligations with IMPACT Wrestling. His reported last match was against a returning Eric Young for an upcoming taping.

Now a follow-up report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider indicates that WWE has an interest in the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. According to the report, numerous sources from WWE indicate that there is a high interest in bringing in Aldis, with his name being discussed internally as a producer.

Nick Aldis’ Unprecedented Pro Wrestling Journey

Aldis first left IMPACT Wrestling back in 2015 and in two years’ time, became the NWA Worlds Heavweight Champion as he, along with Billy Corgan, brought the fledging promotion back to prominence and became the face of the company. In his second reign, Aldis held the 10 Pounds Of Gold for over 1,000 days before losing the belt to Trevor Murdoch.

However, his first reign with the title included a famous feud with Cody Rhodes, something to this day remains unfinished. Aldis lost his NWA Worlds Championship to Rhodes at All In 2018 in Chicago before regaining his belt at NWA 70. It wasn’t long after until Rhodes became one of four EVPs of the then-upstart All Elite Wrestling. With Rhodes currently being one of the top stars in WWE, the intriguing discussion could lead to speculation if we could see a rubber match between The National Treasure and The American Nightmare.

Aldis has since responded to this report in a new interview, addressing the rumours that he has signed with WWE.
