Nick Aldis Confirms NWA Powerrr Will Return

Nick Aldis confirming NWA Powerrr will return

NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis has taken to Twitter to confirm that the promotions’ weekly television show, NWA Powerrr will return.

Powerrr has been off-air since May 2020, when it was forced to pause production due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Aldis responded to a fan on Twitter who had said he was sad that Powerrr had “gone.”

Aldis explained:

NWA Powerrr debuted on October 8, 2019 and was an immediate cult hit. It’s retro set and graphics were inspired by the NWA weekly television shows from the 1970s and 80s.

The show even aired in the traditional Georgia Championship Wrestling timeslot of 6.05 PM.

Powerrr aired on the NWA’s YouTube channel and Facebook page and was also available on-demand via time delay on FITE TV.

Powerrr was the NWA’s long-awaited return to weekly episodic television after the organisation severed ties with NWA: TNA (now Impact Wrestling) in 2007.

Aldis has been the promotion’s star attraction since Powerrr’s inception and has reigned as NWA World Champion since 2018, when he reclaimed the title from Cody on the NWA’s 70th Anniversary Show on October 21 that year.

There is no firm date yet on when Powerrr will return but it is definitely positive news for NWA fans that the promotion’s flagship show will be back in future.
