Nick Aldis, the current and reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion, has confirmed that NWA Powerrr will return in 2021.
When the hugely popular YouTube show left the airwaves in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many wondered and even rumoured that the promotion and their flagship programme was done for good.
In numerous interviews, NWA President and Owner Billy Corgan shot down the speculation before Aldis himself came out in defence of the show returning at some point when it was possible for the promotion to record once more.
In the meantime, NWA partnered with the United Wrestling Network to produce weekly pay-per-view series, Primetime Live, which helped the company to showcase their stars and even provided several major championship changes such as Serena Deeb dethroning Thunder Rosa for the NWA World Women’s Championship.

However, the fate of NWA Powerrr seemed to be all but decided when the National Wrestling Alliance created their new weekly offering, Shockwave, in December which featured the company’s bouts from the aforementioned UWN Primetime Live.
Now Nick Aldis has joined the Keepin’ It 100 Podcast to talk about the current state of NWA Powerrr and promise fans that it will return in 2021:
“The reality is that the Primetime Live is not an NWA product. Powerrr, NWA Powerrr, that’s our flagship. Dude, that’s coming back in 2021.”
NWA Powerrr last hit our screens on May 12 with a special episode entitled NWA Super Powerrr. In the main event of that show, Aldis teamed with Thomas Latimer to defeat Villain Enterprises.
