Nic Nemeth Would Love To Face Wrestling Legend One More Time Before They Retire

Nic Nemeth Optimistic On Facing Wrestling Legend One More Time Before They Retire

Nic Nemeth is hopeful that one more match against a notable foe could be made possible before they call time on their in-ring career.

2024 has seen a number of notable wrestlers make announcements concerning their in-ring future. Beginning with Sting announcing he would be retiring at AEW Revolution 2024, John Cena later announced that his in-ring career would come to an end at the end of 2025 and it is unknown if or when Bryan Danielson will make his return to action after losing the World Championship to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream.

In addition to this, NJPW icon Hiroshi Tanahashi recently revealed that he would be competing one final time at Wrestle Kingdom 20 in January 2026. Following his WWE release in September 2023, Nemeth had a brief run in New Japan and defended the IWGP Global Championship against The Ace at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku in the main event of the show.

During a Q and A on social media, Nemeth was asked if he had any plans to have another run in New Japan, to which the TNA World Champion stated he would love one more match against Tanahashi before The Ace calls time on his career:

loved my time in NJPW and like many others, would love to get one more match with the living legend @tanahashi1_100 before he retires

Nemeth will put the World Title on the line against Joe Hendry at TNA Bound For Glory, which is on course to set a new record.
