Nic Nemeth has revealed that he is dealing with an injury.
Nemeth was scheduled to be a part of the main event of Slammiversary which will see Moose defend the World Championship in a six-pack elimination match that also sees Joe Hendry, Frankie Kazarian, Josh Alexander and Steve Maclin as challengers. A contract signing took place on the go-home episode of Impact on July 18th with Nemeth notably absent.
Appearing via video, Nemeth stated that he was dealing with a partially torn labrum:
“Hi everyone watching and everyone in the ring. From Moose the coward champion to Josh who I have been looking forward to tearing it up with. Maclin, we’ve been through hell together and I’d love to do it again. Kaz, you can kiss my ass and Joe Hendry, I’m even rooting for you a little bit.
A quick update on my health. I was involved in a back alley altercation and through no one’s fault but my own I now have a partially torn labrum. First time in 19 years man and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. That is on me and me alone, I lost my cool and I apologise to the fans and even TNA management.”
Just as it appeared that Nemeth might be withdrawing from the match, The Showoff gave the positive update that he would be cleared to compete and would be in the main event of the pay-per-view:
“But even with a partially torn labrum I will be medically cleared in 2 days and I will be in Montreal and I will be at Slammiversary because you can bet your ass I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I will be fighting for the TNA World Title in the main event of Slammiversary and you better believe that I will be walking out the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Good luck to the rest of you.”
