Former WWE Superstar Nia Jax, who was released from the company in 2021, has shot down online rumours that she is set for a shock return at the Royal Rumble.
In the fifth wave of WWE talent releases this year, 18 stars departed the company. Among them were several high-profile names including former NXT Champions Karrion Kross & Keith Lee, former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon, and former Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax.
While budget cuts had been cited for many of the company’s roster cuts in 2021, reports started making the rounds suggesting Nia Jax had been let go due to her COVID-19 vaccination status. Jax refuted this claim, saying that had never been brought up to her.
With the 2022 Royal Rumble approaching in January, it is the normal time of year for wrestling fans to speculate on what surprise entrants can be expected in both the men’s and women’s Rumble matches.
Nia Jax was asked on social media by a fan if the rumour they heard was true and Jax was going to make a return in the Royal Rumble, to which Jax simply replied “False.”
The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion had previously competed in four Royal Rumble matches during her time in WWE. In 2019 she made history when she became the first WWE Superstar to compete in both the men’s and women’s Rumbles in the same night.
