Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler Win Women’s Tag Team Championships

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have regained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the Royal Rumble Kickoff, defeating Charlotte Flair and RAW Women’s Champion Asuka to begin their second reign with the titles.

While Flair and Asuka seemed to be on top for much of the match, Ric Flair’s entrance music would play before Charlotte’s new nemesis, Lacey Evans, would take advantage of the referee being distracted to hit The Queen with a Women’s Right with brass knuckles, while Flair had the Figure Eight locked in, allowing Jax to hit a Leg Drop and get the three count.

Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler AND Lacey Evans are all scheduled to be in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match later in the evening. If any of those women win the match, they’ll be able to challenge either RAW Women’s Champion Asuka, SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, or NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai at WrestleMania. That is, if those women can all keep hold of the gold until the Show of Shows.

Will we see any fallout from the Kickoff show match during the Royal Rumble? Only time will tell.
